Prayer is the Key!
Please pray for…We have had several needs over this past month with people in the hospital and having surgeries. God is still on His throne! Continue to pray for one another and for His blessings on our future as a church.
Focus for 2005...
It seems like only yesterday I was writing, "I can't believe 2003 is over!" Now here I am writing that about 2004. Time is fleeing by! I believe sometimes that the earth is spinning a little faster these days. So here it is, like it or not, 2005! This year is a year of promise! I believe we are going to see many of the promises of our Lord come about. I believe we will at least be starting the new building, if not in it by the end of the year! But the Church is not a building, it is people. So, let us not put our focus on a building, that is only a tool to be used, but people are the church. Our focus needs to be changed lives, healed homes and relationships, and new life and beginnings for others. I pray that we might catch a vision in 2005 that we are the watchman on the wall, letting others know Jesus is the reason, not only for the season but for all time! Praying for a blessed New Year! The church office has available CD's with 680+ pictures from our church's 2004 photo collection! You can get one with a gift of $3 towards the new church building fund. The CD also includes the God's Kids patriotic presentation from the Spring AND photos that could not fit on the website. Please contact the church office to get yours!
YOUTH MINISTRY NEWS
I always look forward to the idea of a fresh start with a new year. For 2005 I have decided to only have one goal - A closer walk with Christ. This is also our goal and prayer for the student ministry in 2005. Beginning in mid January we will be forming a discipleship group for High school and College students who want to be challenged to walk closer with Christ. Please let me know if you are interested in being a part of this group. For our youth ministry we will bring back First Friday Hangouts! Our first FFHO will be Friday, January 7 from 6 to 10 p.m. We will meet in front of the CBC Activities building, go to CiCi's for dinner, and then head over to The Zone for roller skating. You will need to bring $11 for pizza and skating. On February 25-27 we will be having Impact Weekend! Please begin clearing you calendars for this event! Information letters will be going out in the next few weeks.COLLEGE MINISTRY NEWS

Music Ministry Notes From Fred
The Christmas season has come and gone. On January 6 many Christians will celebrate Epiphany Day. This is to observe the time when the magi visited the child Jesus, who was no longer a baby. Their visit is a picture of worship just as the visit by the shepherds and proclamation of the angels were.As we remember the wonderful carols and bowl games, great food and time with family during the Christmas season let's remember most of all the story of God's redemptive love. Jesus' birth has made our rebirth possible. 1 John 5:1 says, "Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and whoever loves the Father loves the child born of Him."
The message continues with us. We know of a hope for the hopeless. This year let us be a light that shines in our work-places and classrooms, in our neighborhoods and in our community. I John 5:4 goes on," For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world - our faith."
Now would be a great time to get involved in the music and arts ministry!
Calvary Choir for 9th grade and up. We rehearse on Sundays at 4:45 in the sanctuary. Get a head start on the Easter season!
God's Kids K-6th grade. Easter rehearsals will begin soon. Be on the lookout for upcoming information.
Drama Team There will be more opportunities this year to share with this exciting medium. Please let Becky Sosa know of your interest.
Instrumentalists We will be utilizing more instrumentalists in exciting ways this year. If I haven't yet spoken with you, please come talk to me. All levels of experience are welcome!

The Tuesday noon Men's Bible Study is going well. We have been covering the topics in the book "Beneath the Surface". Some of the topics are difficult, but needed. We have suspended the noon meetings until January 4th. We will finish this study in January and then begin a new study in February. If you are not attending, and it fits your schedule, then make a New Years resolution to come and take part. Also, make another resolution to bring a friend or friends to the meetings. Remember, the lunch is free! And we'll get you out and back to work on time. Proverbs 15 :31 says "The ear that hears the rebukes of life will abide among the wise", so come and "hear".
