Prayer is the Key!

Please pray for…

  • Doug Carson
  • Our search for a Music Minister
  • Our Relocation process and finances for that project

Well it is hard to believe - 2006! Lots of things have happened over the past year, some happy, some sad, so we have laughed together and cried together through this past year. Now 2006 stares us in the face. What will it hold? I don't have any idea, but two things I know:
  1. Whatever lies ahead we can face with Jesus!
  2. We are one year closer to the rapture and heaven!

A little report on the building, we are making progress, the walls are up and by January 1, 2006 the roof should be on and we should soon be dried in. That is the good news and the bad news, the bank account is going down. We need to pray for God to move in our midst and motivate us to give and secondly that our present facility might sell, if that is His will. Hopefully by this time next year we will be there and seeing great and wonderful things happening. It is exciting to see it come this far, but it is going to be greater to have our first meeting in the new facility. I got up and was walking on that second floor today - and just praying over it, walking where the youth and college will be, then over the children's department and the young married class. I pray that we might catch a vision that our friends, neighbors, fellow workers and even our foes—they need Jesus. I pray when we get to the new building it is already too small. May 2006 be a year of great harvest for the Lord's work.

God's Blessings on you!

Come enjoy a FREE Lunch on Tuesdays.

Hello men of Calvary! You know, I really do enjoy working with the men of Calvary. I am reminded of the old saying "Men and Women only have one thing in common. They both enjoy the company of men." It is truly good to come together as men because God's Word encourages us to do just that. We have numerous opportunities to come together: Sunday School, Men's Lunch (every Tuesday), monthly men's suppers and other special events. I want to encourage each of you to come and get engaged as often as possible. You will be blessed and we certainly need all the blessing we can get in this crazy life. Our Tuesday lunch meetings are centered around a program by Gene Getz called, "The Measure of a Man". We look at different attributes of a Godly man and the Scriptural basis for each one. It gives each of us the opportunity to see how we "measure up". It also gives us the opportunity to learn new ways to deal with the stresses of life and to become more of a Godly man. This is a worthy endeavor for all men, no matter what age. Please note that due to the busyness of the upcoming Holiday season, that we will not meet on Tuesday, Dec 27th for lunch, nor will we have any supper meetings in November or December.

See you in Church,
John Clarke
Men's Ministry Leader
Men’s Supper & Women’s Supper will be on Tuesday, January 24th at 6:30 p.m.
