Prayer is the Key!

It is so exciting to see people come to know the Lord and follow Him in believer’s baptism. Continue to pray for Calvary Baptist Church. God is moving in the lives of His people. So prayer is the KEY, church, keep praying!

GREETINGS FROM AFRICA!

>Here is an e-mail from Africa. Sent on Thursday, June 3rd at 1:03 P.M.

We are in Kampala and things are going well. We have been so busy. We are in the middle of a pastor’s conference. There are about 100 pastors and their wives in attendance.

I have had the opportunity to preach twice today and I will preach twice tomorrow. Saturday night, I am going to the University and will be speaking to about 1000 college students.

Bro. Gerald Sserwwagi says “hi”. I preached in his church last night. His church is small, but it is only a year old. I had a great talk with him on the way home.

Sunday, I will be preaching in Gabba. The last time I was here, we met in a tent. Now they have a large auditorium and school. What a blessing!

Well, we are about to start services, I better run.

Bro. Dennis

Student Stuff

As you receive this newsletter, 21 youth and 4 adults are participating in Student Life Camp at Lookout Mountain, GA. What a priviledge it is to be a part of a church that makes youth ministry a priority. Your generosity toward our youth is wonderful. A few of you especially were a blessing with your designated gifts for youth camp. Thank you! I look forward to opportunities to share with you how God worked at your camp this week.

With school being out, June and July are very active months for our youth ministry. All of our summer events are on the youth and calendar pages of our website. If you haven’t been to www.calvarysanmarcos.com check it out!

On June 24, we will have a youth cookout and tube float down the San Marcos River. We will meet near the Lion’s Club tube rental area at 11:00 A.M. and be done by 2:30 P.M.

On Sunday, June 27, our mission trip training will begin. If you are going on the Mexico Mission trip, you need to be at the three training sessions. I am excited about our mission trip and the opportunity to minister to the people of Monterrey. This year, we will be doing more projects and will definitely need the preparation time. The trip will be July 17 - 23 and there are still a few openings if you would like to go. The cost is now $75.00. See Ken for more details.

On Saturday, July 3, we will be having a Youth Scavenger Hunt from 5 to 9 p.m. and then on the 6 & 7, we will be heading south for a “Beach Getaway”.

Continue to keep our youth in your prayers as we focus on growing closer to the Lord and each other this summer.

Speaking of prayer! We are in the process of bringing to our staff a college intern to minister to college students next year. I’m very excited how God is working in this process. I’ll be sharing more with you soon!
